1st Foundation: Adopting a Best Friend. Warrior. Hero.

Freedom has never come free. It takes the courage of brave men and women putting their life on the line each and every day to give us the peace of mind to do and say as we please. Our First Responders and Special Operations Forces are the backbone of what makes the United States the greatest country in the world. They put our well-being first during their service, so we created the 1st Foundation to try and repay the favor.

The mission of the 1st Foundation is to provide assistance to the members and family members of Special Operations Forces and Police Special Operations. We focus our efforts on supporting the men and women who risk their lives by being first on the scene, domestically or abroad. This is done by providing grants for continuing education, specialized equipment, helping the cost of medical bills and training for those that do not have the necessary funding to get the job done.

A large portion of the 1st Foundation is providing a loving home for our retired military working dogs to aid our servicemen and women in re-acclimating to civilian life through our K9 adoption program. 1st Foundation brings these war heroes home from overseas and places them with our military veterans as a companion, often those who suffer from PTSD. These dogs and their owners help each other every day to learn how to enjoy retired life as partners.

All of these dogs are war heroes in their own right and deserve a loving retirement home and continued care. Our skillfully trained K9s are some of the most loving and loyal dogs you could hope to come across. These are just a few of our furry friends up for adoption at the moment:

The 1st Foundation has an all-volunteer staff, and 100 percent of all donations received go toward making it possible to provide services to Special Forces, law enforcement and our four-legged friends.

Find out how you too can adopt one of our heroic dogs and stay connected with us on social media: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
